The Little Light. A Poem

Into the darkness
a little thread of light spun
reaching itself thin
all the way to the edges
of the darkness.

It was a bright little light
but as it became thinner and thinner
it also became dimmer and dimmer
until it almost wasn't.

Looking around,
the little light
was filled with despair
because despite all that stretching
it had failed
to transform
the darkness.

Just before
the little light
began to fold back in
on itself
another little came along.
And the darkness
was just a little lighter.

The two lights began to dance
and spin, delighting in the presence
of the other.

Soon they were dancing and spinning so fast
that little bits of light were breaking off of them.
